BOTOX® Cosmetic seeks to improve dynamic wrinkles and fine lines by blocking chemical signals responsible for muscle contractions and their corresponding wrinkles. Dynamic lines, such as crow’s feet, frown lines, forehead wrinkles, and lines around the mouth, are caused by frequent and repeated muscle movements. While these lines start as temporary (only showing when the muscles are in use), they can become permanent over time.

This injectable neuromodulator (neurotoxin) is made up of botulinum toxin (type A), which prevents chemical signals that cause muscles to contract. When carefully injected into the targeted muscle, BOTOX® Cosmetic smooths out the wrinkles, giving patients a more youthful facial appearance.
